Fri, 16 November 2007 I've been using Macs for twenty some odd (some even) years. Stuck through them through the lean years and never stopped believing in "Hoist the Jolly Roger."
But I'm wondering now if a little bit of Microsoft think isn't creeping in. And a lot of it is our fault.
The iPhone wasn't completely ready, but we forced a date (we being Macaholics and the rumor mill). Leopard, when released, seemed like an Alpha and the update, 10.5.1, has brought it up to Beta status.
But Steve shares some of the blame. He couldn't be bullied by Gates, Scully, et al. But mess with the faithful...
I only bring this up because it made this week's show a living Hell to produce. Should I have put it onto a mission critical machine? No.
But past experience showed that the earlier X releases were quite stable. In fact, I used the Beta of the line quite successfully.
I think that we all need a reality check. Fans - no more forcing release dates. And Steve - just take the time that you need to get it right.
Now, on with the show.
